Peterhof Palace is the name of the palace that Peter the Great built for himself after defeating Sweden in the 7-year war and upon founding the city of St. Petersburg. The Palace is mostly famous for its array of fountains (176 to be precise) and parks that surround it. It is on our list of the two must-see places outside of the city center. This was the favorite summer palace for many Russian tsars and you will explore this elegant palace in-depth with our experienced guide. We were visiting St Pete in May with friends, was quite chilly, but this was once in a lifetime thing! Never seen anything similar anywhere in the world. We had a very knowledgeable lady as a guide, very much into her work, knows tons of stories from the emperor’s court. We would recommend this tour for sure.
